Ready for your final walkthrough? It’s the last step before you get the keys to your new home, and it’s crucial to make sure everything is in tip-top shape. Here’s a quick guide to help you nail it.

Why the Final Walkthrough Matters

The final walkthrough is your chance to ensure that the property is in the agreed-upon condition. It’s not a home inspection, but rather a time to verify that everything is as it should be before you finalize the purchase.

General Condition

  1. Cleanliness: The home should be clean and free of any personal items from the previous owner unless otherwise agreed.
  2. Repairs: Check that all agreed-upon repairs have been completed to your satisfaction.
  3. No New Damage: Look for any new damage that may have occurred since your last visit.

Systems and Appliances

  1. Plumbing: Turn on all faucets, showers, and toilets to check for leaks and proper water pressure. Inspect under sinks for any signs of leaks.
  2. Electrical: Test all light switches, outlets, and fixtures to ensure they are working. Open the circuit breaker panel to make sure it’s labeled correctly.
  3. Heating and Cooling: Switch on the heating and air conditioning systems to confirm they are functioning properly.
  4. Appliances: Test all included appliances such as the oven, stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer, and refrigerator to ensure they are operational.

Structure and Exterior
